I wasn't sure at first if this was in 1983 or 1984 because I was only 7 years old, but I'm born in 1977 so it must have been in 1984. It was summertime, right after school let out for the summer (which is in June in California) and my family drove to my visit my mom's parents all the way from California to Champaign-Urbana Illinois where they lived and where my mom's family is from.
I wish I could save this because I am already drained typing the two comments and getting ready

we drove to this lake community where my grandparents had a cabin and a boat that docked on the water in the center of this lake community. I don't know how far away from Champaign it was or what the name of the town where it was. We spent at least 3 or 4 days at the cabin fishing and walking in the woods, just old fashioned American fun.
