A few years ago, 2008 to be exact in the summer I was out in the backyard one night smoking a cigarette just like I do many times every night. It was a clear starry night just like it often is in the summertime. All of a sudden I saw that one of the stars was moving ever so slightly left and right. You had to look carefully to see it but it was clear when you looked carefully.
I kept looking at the moving star and the movements became wider and the star became bigger and brighter.

I realized that this was not a star but a bright object moving in a zigzag pattern and coming straight towards me.
I kept looking and it got bigger and brighter

and the motion kept getting wider and wider. My cigarette was out but I stayed out to watch this thing. It was close enough now that I could see that it was round.
At this time it changed course slightly, like it pulled up slightly to get level with the ground.
It flew over me at an altitude similar to a low flying small plane. It was quiet out and the flying object didn't make any sound. I lost track of it as it went behind the neighborhood rooftops. I wonder if anyone else saw this?
