I was heading north on 50 towards Grand Junction last week on Tuesday at about 3 in the morning. There were very few cars on the road. Suddenly a bright streak of light shoots past at lightning speed right in front of the car. I slam on my brakes and get out of the car to see what the hell that was.
I looked towards the direction the streak of light had headed and saw that on the nearby ridge to the right about 300 to 400 feet from the road was an oval shaped object sitting

on top of the ridge. It looked about the size of a van and it seemed to be suspended in air a few feet above the ground, but it might have had thin legs that I

couldn't see from where I was with the limited amount of light available.
The object was dimly illuminated and had darker surfaces that looked a lot like tinted windows, but I don't know, I don't want to add any subjective input. No later than I spot this object it starts rising up towards the sky. When it gets about 20 feet up it speed up to an insane speed and flies away as fast as the streak of light I had just seen in front of my car.
