1977, late day, not sure of the time of year. Was driving with a friend on Dutch Broadway in Elmont, NY driving SE. My friend who was driving pointed in the sky and there was a greenish hovering disk I guess a couple of hundred yards over the Nassau County Police Station, 5th Precinct. It was not still in the sky, was bouncing around a few degrees in all directions. We stopped in the middle of the road and watched it for several minutes until it shot off in a westerly direction.

It took I guess about 15 seconds for it to leave our field of vision.
