Then they all went white, hot white, and grew brighter and brighter. Then they all shot out into space in random directions and were gone. We didn't realize until they were gone. However, the second they were gone, the crickets all started chirping in unison. It was then we realized that the crickets had stopped chirping when the lights showed up. As if they sensed their presence. I will never forget that experience and have been obsessed ever since.
