Vapor Trail UFO Sighting from South Portland, Maine

7:59pm; Took a picture of a great sunset. Later zoomed on image and spotted unidentified object having a small V trail. Have spent 6000 hours flying and this is not of a fighter or commercial aircraft. Vapor trails are longer and breaking sound barrier is almost midship to object. While in Navy 1968-1988, spotted a few UFO's, but told not to discuss at debrief, even with verified photos.
