In the summer of 1998 at the Salt Lake City (Utah) International Airport I saw something that didn't make any sense to me. Maybe it was a UFO, and maybe I was just misinterpreting what I saw. I just can't figure out what I saw, and despite looking for answers for years, I've never found an explanation. I apologize for any errors in distances runway numbers as this took place 27 years ago, and I'm relying on memory. I'm not a newcomer to observing aircraft.

I attended dozens of air shows and devoured any book I could find on commercial and military aircraft. I attended AFROTC at BYU University. I spent time in a half

dozen different USAF bases often on the flight line and spent hundreds of hours on flight lines and right next to runways observing commercial and military aircraft taking off landing flying past. I worked at the Utah Air National Guard Base located on the east side of the SLC International Airport where this sighting occurred.
While sitting in a work truck at the UTANG base in SLC Utah I stopped in a relatively quiet area to have lunch and watch both the sunset and aircraft taking off and landing
